Our Refractive Surgery Department provides conventional and custom LASIK surgery procedures. The LASIK surgeons at Eye Associates combine over 75 years experience and have performed thousands of procedures in our three statewide Laser Vision Centers. We employ state of the art technology, and make available to our patients the very latest science has to offer, including CUSTOM LASIK. All of our ophthalmologists & optometrists are Board Certified and provide a complimentary consultation and screening process to determine candidacy. Educational seminars are offered periodically at our clinic locations.

Conventional LASIK
Most patients over the age of 18 with nearsightedness, farsightedness or astigmatism and a stable eyeglass prescription are candidates. The best way to determine if you are a candidate is to schedule a free comprehensive refractive surgery evaluation with one of our physicians.

Custom LASIK
Custom LASIK is the latest vision correction procedure that provides your doctor with the tools to take a precise measurement of your eyes, like a “fingerprint” of your vision. This custom “fingerprint” is then transmitted to the laser, enabling your surgeon to customize the LASIK procedure to your individual vision requirements.

A Personalized Approach to Vision Correction

Eye Associates of New Mexico uses both the VISX Star S4™ and the Alcon LadarVision® CustomCornea® excimer laser systems to provide the highest level of customized patient care. The VISX Star S4™ excimer laser system uses the WaveScan® wavefront analyzer. The Alcon LadarVision® CustomCornea® excimer laser system uses the LADARWave™ wavefront analyzer.

Custom LASIK provides an additional level of precise data about your vision requirements using wavefront technology. The wavefront analyzer measures the way light travels through your eye and compares it to the way light travels through an eye with perfect vision.
