this review is for the los alamos location. yes, the wait is always ridiculously long. my son has worn glasses since 1st grade. he is now in college. i dont think we have ever been called in to see the doctor without waiting at least an hour. it is completely ridiculous. still, the doctors and staff are very friendly and super qualified. seriously! the doctors in particular work really well with kids of all ages and are very skilled and highly educated. the staff is also very patient. i remember when my son 1st got contact lenses (in middle school). omg! it literally took him an hour to get the 1st lens in the 1st time (no exaggeration)! the nurses and staff were so patient with him, sitting with him, giving advice, and eventually checking in with him every 5 minutes, or so, to see how he was doing. (yes, he got faster after that!) also, theres an optical shop there, so if you want, you can order glasses right then. of course, you can take your prescription anywhere you want, but i find this convenient. los alamos is a small town. there arent a lot of options for anything. so, when i find qualified doctors with wonderful beside manners, i continue to see them, even if it means adding an hour to every appointment for the wait. when my son was little, i had him bring his nintendods or homework with him. later he brought his e-reader or homework. and i always brought my e-reader or knitting with me. now hes an adult and goes by himself. he knows its gonna be a long wait....

i recommend ms. rubio enthusiastically. she did a biopsy on my eyelid. she is very bright, she answers questions very well and very willingly. she is very confident in her skills. as my emt son said, 'some of the best doctors are pa's.'
