I've seen Dr Ritsema twice and she caught a torn retina the first time. She is very thorough, listens and is very pleasant to work with.

I have had the most positive experiences with Dr. Melendez and his staff at the Eye Associates of New Mexico. I registered and was seen within 3 minutes this morning. Each of the technicians were extremely nice. I've always been scared of eye exams but beginning with Gabriel through to my actual visit with Dr. Melendez I can only say that it was a wonderful experience. They are kind, do not hurry you and make sure that you are comfortable. I would recommend Dr. Melendez to everyone. He performed my cataract surgery and I still cannot believe that I had the courage to have the surgery done but he and his staff made sure I was comfortable and I have nothing but compliments for them all. Thank you.

Dr. Ritsema and all the staff at Eye Associates of New Mexico at both locations where I have been treated--Los Lunas and ABQ Northside--are skilled professionals and kind. I recommend them enthusiastically. My only wish is that I didn't need to see them as often as I do, but that's the fault of my aging eyes and not their fault at all. In fact they have enabled me to see extremely well despite my various eye issues, and what more could one ask? (Answer: nothing.)

I have had Dr. Himmel as my doctor since 2010. He performed surgery on my left eye for cataract and Fuchs' Distrophy in 2012. I am very satisfied with the results and will have surgery by Dr. Himmel in 2020 on my right eye to treat a cataract and my Fuchs' Distrophy in 2020. He has followed up with me semi-annually and he is always professional, informative and supportive. As a very busy doctor, I appreciate that he is always friendly and warm.
